In addition to security specialists we also offer hosts and hostesses. These security hosts determine the first impressions made on a client during his visit to a company. A security host must therefore be the calling card and must always act from a service-providing frame of mind. Through our experience in store protection we know better than anyone else what hospitality entails. A well-groomed appearance, an open personality, and a proactive attitude are important here.
All security hosts are well-trained with safety in mind. They undergo various training programmes in order to develop further. One of the trainings they receive is profiling in retail. This training covers the service-providing frame of mind in greater depth as well as the delivery of a positive contribution to the customer experience. At the same time the hosts learn to profile customers in a store, to signal odd behaviour and to provide service during a security gate alarm.
The security hosts look at visitors and shoppers with the eyes of a security officer. Security hosts can be seconded separately—for instance at a desk or for reception work. Often they work closely together with a MAAT security officer. This is a powerful combination.
Together with a security officer they actively strive to overcome deficiencies. The security officer is there to take over where the mandate of the hosts and hostesses terminates. For this it is important that the security hosts also have knowledge of the methods employed by store criminals, so that they can identify, prevent and possibly alert others at an early stage.
